Dove Award Winning Group 1 Crew Scheduled To Release Sophomore Project, ORDINARY DREAMERS, September 16th

Nashville, TN (August 25, 2008) ----- The highly anticipated sophomore project from Fervent Records’, Group 1 Crew, is scheduled to release September 16, 2008. Ordinary Dreamers is the follow up to their Dove Award Winning self-titled debut in the Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year category this past April.

The title of the new CD is a message to everyone who has spiritual dreams. “We’re still ordinary people, but we’re doing extraordinary things,” Manwell explains. “That’s an oxymoron, but it’s made so that the dreamer mentality can be on typical people’s minds. Nobody’s born a rock star. Nobody’s born famous. It’s just normal people who’ve done amazing things and are now esteemed for those amazing things. We feel that’s everyone. Everyone has that possibility.”

Produced by Christopher Stevens and Andy Anderson, Ordinary Dreamers showcases a maturity and growth as artists for the group’s three members, Manwell, Blanca, and Pablo. While testifying their faith in their own unique urban, pop, hip-hop style, Group 1 Crew presents a wide range of lyrics and song styles on this most unordinary album. The first single from the project, “Keys To The Kingdom,” is already getting early adds and professes holding on to a strong faith while for waiting for the return of the Son. “Closer” is a powerful song that showcases the pipes of Blanca as her vocals can match any pop vocalist such as Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. “Movin’,” “Gimme That Funk,” and “Bring The Party To Life,” are definitely upbeat, party songs while “iContact,” “I See You,” and “Live Out Loud,” show the musical boundaries that this talented group can explore and expand.

Group 1 Crew will be showcasing songs from their new CD at the highly popular teen girl event, The Revolve Tour. The song, “Movin’,” from Ordinary Dreamers was selected as the theme song for the tour that will hit sixteen cities and will kick-off in Columbus, Ohio on September 12th.

Group 1 Crew exploded onto the Christian music scene in 2007 with major radio airplay and critical acclaim for their debut project. Their music also attracted national attention, as the track “A Lot In Common,” from their first CD was featured in a promo spot for the popular reality show, The Simple Life, with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. All three members of Group 1 Crew hail from Orlando, FL and formed their band from a bible study group that Manwell had started. The band teamed together for one unified purpose, the desire to shine the love of Christ through the power of song and they wanted the group’s name to carry that singular message.
